Sports Funding

Additional funding for sport is being effectively used to provide further training for teachers, high quality sports provision through a sports coaching partnership and a wider range of sports. The impact is already being seen in pupils’ enjoyment and improvement of their physical skills and the take-up of sports after school. – Ofsted 2014

The PE and sport premium is an annual dedicated payment for primary schools provided by the Department for Education (DfE) from September 2013. Schools have the discretion to spend the funding as they see fit to improve the quality of PE and sports.

At St Patrick’s a proportion of our sport funding is used as part payment towards the cost of two level 2 qualified coaches from CM Sports to work with children from year 1 to year 6 developing and applying a variety of physical skills and challenges.
